About Us
At Honsalek Law, we focus on your individual situation, making sure that you’re advised of all your options. We offer free consultations so that we can get to know you and your family well enough to help you decide which options may work for you. We take the time to give you individual, personalized attention during this difficult time in your life.
Our Firm
We devote 100% of our law practice to bankruptcy and consumer rights. Unlike other law firms, when you hire Honsalek Law, you are getting a specialist firm. In today’s complex legal world, a specialist is what you want. You wouldn’t go to your family doctor if you needed heart surgery, so don’t go to just any lawyer when you need a bankruptcy or help dealing with oppressive debt. The U.S. Bankruptcy Code is one of the most detailed and nuanced areas of the law. If you’re not in it 100%, it’s easy to miss opportunities and make mistakes. We’ve had clients come to us from other firms and were able to get them into a chapter 13 plan with lower payments, or even get them a full chapter 7 discharge when they didn’t think it was an option!
We also do not represent big corporations and debt collectors, so you can rest assured that we are completely on your side. We fight only for the little guy and believe strongly in protecting YOUR rights!
Our Mission and Values
Our primary mission is to provide freedom and hope to people struggling with overwhelming debt. Our core values are (1) treating each person as the imago Dei (the image of God), worthy of the utmost respect and dignity, (2) treating our clients as we would like to be treated if we were in their situation, and (3) having the highest standard of diligence and excellence in our work,
Brandon Honsalek
Mr. Honsalek and Mr. Galler both attended and graduated with honors from Georgia State University and the University of Georgia School of Law.
Prior to his graduation from law school Mr. Honsalek obtained an externship as an Assistant District Attorney for the Alcovy Judicial Circuit. It was in the DA’s office that he gained invaluable courtroom experience with a nearly perfect jury verdict record.
Like Mr. Galler, Mr. Honsalek’s passion was to help and defend people in difficult circumstances. This led Mr. Honsalek to leave the DA’s office and work for several years for an innovative non-profit to help people. He oversaw the legal department, the organization’s operations, and managed a staff of over 20 employees giving him invaluable legal and business experience.
His diverse professional experience helps him to see the big picture and find out-of-the-box solutions for his clients that others might miss. His passion is to help YOU find freedom so you can have a fresh start on your financial life. Bringing these practices together expands the services to the residents of Georgia with four offices and an experienced legal staff.
Susan Gantt – Of Counsel
Susan’s calling is to be there for you in your toughest moments.
She earned her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University Law School and then began her career 33 years ago as a creditor attorney representing a car dealership in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. After a couple of years, she moved back home to Atlanta, but continued to work for creditors, both for the government and for private lenders. Unfortunately, she witnessed first-hand the harsh realities of how some creditors treat people in bankruptcy and foreclosure and just couldn’t stand it. She switched sides and started working exclusively for individual consumer debtors like you.
Now for the past 21 years she has exclusively represented debtors in bankruptcy, standing up for the little guy, and ensuring that your rights are protected. She uses her past experience and vast knowledge of the ins and outs of the big credit business to ensure you are treated fairly through the whole process. She considers it an honor and privilege to represent people in their most difficult financial situations. A long-time Atlanta-area native, Susan is happily married with 2 rescue dogs, and enjoys gardening and reading in her spare time.
Chasity N. French – Paralegal
Always hardworking, diligent, and cheerful, Chasity is one of the pillars of our team.
Chasity obtained her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Gwinnett Colleges and Institute and has worked as a bankruptcy paralegal since 2001. In her now more than 20 years of experience she has excelled in every aspect of bankruptcy practice. She’s done everything from conducting initial intake interviews, preparing and filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions, preparing and filing motions, schedules, amendments and other related documents to corresponding with clients and creditors on a daily basis, scheduling appointments and hearings, tracking deadlines, and conducting research. She also has great long-term relationships with most of folks on the other side of the table, making her an invaluable advocate for your case. Chasity uses her considerable multitasking skills and customer service experience to help you obtain debt freedom and a fresh start in your financial life. From complex to simple bankruptcies, Chasity is involved from the beginning to the end. A true native of Atlanta, Chasity enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and especially shopping. Chasity is happily married with a 7-year-old daughter and 2 Chiweenies, Sadie and Sailor.
David Galler
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. David Galler. Mr. Galler’s primary focus has always been to help his clients. Even while he was fighting cancer he continued to work tirelessly to help his clients. Prior to his passing David’s concern and commitment to his clients and staff motivated him to reach out to Brandon Honsalek to setup a transition plan. Through his extensive legal experience, Mr. Galler knew many of the Georgia law firms in the field of bankruptcy. Of all the firms Mr. Galler knows and respects, he selected Brandon Honsalek of Debt Freedom GA to continue the outstanding service and commitment to his clients and the residents of Georgia.

Bankruptcy Solutions
There are many situations in life that may land you in what seems like an impossible financial situation. Filing for bankruptcy can give you a “fresh start” and hope for your financial future. Here at Honsalek Law, we know what you’re going through is real and extremely stressful, and we want to help.
Debtor Harassment
In addition to bankruptcy, we also handle Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) cases. The FDCPA is a federal law that keeps debt collectors honest. We use it to make sure you are treated fairly when someone tries to collect a debt from you.
